Maximizing Performance

Pushing any business to the next level is not as easy as it appears. There are no shortages of business consultants and pundits who have 1001 different ways to improve the performance of a business. Alleged miracle solutions range from creating better time management methods, hiring the right people, restructuring incentive compensation plans, implementing tactical strategies to improve office karma, or developing better Social Networks Internet tactics.

Yet, in actual fact – nothing changes until you can quantify the problem and improve upon the status quo. Regardless of the problem – big or small, operations or sales, individual or organizational, tactical or strategic – regardless of the issue, baseline and benchmarking progress must first be established.

To maximize performance, three things must be accomplished to MAX-up results:

M = Measure. Create the baseline by measuring what is happening today.

A= Adjust. Once a baseline is created, new strategies can be implemented with the appropriate tactics developed to change the existing reality.

X= Execution. It is all about execution. Change comes with the ability to use the baseline and execute the tactics of a strategy in order to incrementally improve performance.

Once this process is repeated over and over, and each time there is an improvement on the baseline regardless of the problem, eventually performance can be maximized.

Start your engines and get ready to MAX-up your reality!
